The ERASMUS Programme at HHU

Erasmus is the most popular mobility programme world-wide. During the first 25 years of its existence (1987-2013) three million students throughout Europe spent a study stay abroad with the Erasmus programme, among them more than 450,000 German students.

Erasmus does not only support study stays but also visits of lecturers and other staff members at universities (or companies) abroad. Further information on the different opportunities can be found on these websites:

Erasmus+ superseded the previous EU educational programme ERASMUS / Life-long Learning Programme (LLP) (2007 – 2013) in June 2014. A brochure on all relevant aspects of the implementation of the programme at Heinrich Heine University is available for download: Erasmus+ Manual (pdf, in German).

In the framework of the Erasmus programme, HHU maintains over 350 bilateral agreements with about 200 in 31 participating countries throughout Europe. You can find our partner institutions on our map of partner institutions for studies abroad or in the list of partner institutions, sorted by countries.
