  • Refugee Law Clinic Düsseldorf offers open consultation hours

The open consultation hours are every

1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6pm-7.30pm at the Welcome Center close to Düsseldorf main station (Heinz-Schmöle-Str. 7, 40227 Düsseldorf).

The Refugee Law Clinic Düsseldorf (RLCD) was established in 2016 by a group of university students and other dedicated persons at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. It offers free legal advice to refugees and asylum seekers and is supported by Studium Universale at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. In lectures as well as practical seminars, the student counsellors learn about asylum, migration and residence laws and are always kept up to date with any new developments. They work together with trained lawyers who specialise in asylum or migration law as well as interpreters in order to guarantee the highest possible quality of consultation. They offer counselling sessions e.g. for refugees who are changing their place of residence or who wish to bring their families to Germany. They help refugees in dealing with German authorities and a number of other matters. The legal counselling sessions give the students an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-life cases while at the same time providing a low-threshold access for refugees and asylum seekers to legal advice.
