Abstract
The literature dealing with the function of auditory feedback in speech control is described and discussed. On the basis of the discussed literature, the function of auditory feedback in speech control is redefined. It is suggested that auditory feedback of the own speech is used for monitoring suprasegmental aspects of speech.
