Europäisches Netzwerk/European Research Network

For many years, the Institute has been collaborating with colleagues from all over Europe. In 1998, this research network has formally resulted in the Scientific Programme on 'Social Variations in Health Expectancy in Europe'  funded by the European Science Foundation (ESF) from 1999 to 2003. The initiative aimed at advancing most recent promising research developments in this field by strengthening scientific collaboration throughout Europe. More information on the ESF Programme 'Social Variations' which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Johannes Siegrist (research coordinator Dr. Simone Weyers).

After expiration of the ESF Programme, four centres agreed to continue their scientific collaboration in a formal way because it forms an important part of their main research programme. More information on the Four-Centres-Initiative.
