All students at a university must render the semester fee. With this money, facilities are supported which are in the interest of all students.

The semester fee in summer semester 2012 amounts to € 225,66. The money must be paid upon enrolment or re-registration. From this sum, € 139,56 are for the semester ticket which is valid for the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia, € 73,20 go to the Düsseldorf Student Services (Düsseldorf Studenten-
werk) and a further € 12,90 to the Student Union (AllgemeinenStudierendenausschuss (AStA)).
