Application deadlines for foreign students
Special deadlines and dates apply to foreign students. Please make sure to send your completed study-related documents to the Registrar’s office no earlier than two months before the application deadline:
For study programmes with admission restrictions the deadlines to apply for a university place at Heinrich Heine University are:
- 15 January for the following summer semester, and
- 15 July for the following winter semester.
For study programmes without such admission restrictions (including Master’s programmes) the deadline to apply for the winter semester 2011/12 is
- 7 October 2011.
All required papers must be submitted as officially certified copies. It is not sufficient to simply copy authentication stamps. Authentications in languages other than German, English or French will also not be accepted. Foreign language authentications (except English and French) must be translated into German by the Embassy or a sworn translator.
Please only send in your fully completed and signed application forms to the Registrar’s office. It is unfortunately not possible to submit missing documents at a later date for applications for study programmes with admission restrictions (i.e. numerus clausus programmes).
You can expect to receive a decision on your application around 6-8 weeks after the application deadline. Each applicant will receive written notification. To enable us to process all applications quickly, we kindly request you to refrain from enquiring about the status of your application.
