All faculties of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf are located on a single campus in the south of the city. All institutions, including the university hospital, are located in close proximity to each other. This allows for an open exchange which contributes to the development of modern and interdisciplinary studies and also creates synergies between research and teaching.

Over 16000 students and 1700 teaching staff in five faculties benefit from this proximity. The five faculties offer 50 different study sections. Next to a wide range of subjects in the fields of medicine, humanities, natural science, law and economics there are many interdisciplinary and postgraduate courses. Currently, the following degrees can be obtained: Bachelor, Master, PhD and State Examination (Staatsexamen).
