International Projects
The aim to further the compatibility of university education throughout Europe is increasingly becoming the gage for future developments and assessment procedures at universities.
The conditions surrounding the process of internationalization (e.g. the Bologna Declaration) challenge universities' long-established self-perceptions and demand adjustment of their internal structures. In order to be internationally accessible adequate infrastructures are required.
The introduction of Bachelor's and Master's degrees all over Europe is a prerequisite for transnational bi- oder trilaterale programmes of study leading to degrees jointly and cooperatively awarded by more than one university from different countries.
The increasing acquisition of third-party funds from international donors like the European Union depends on the building of transboundary networking structures which are the basis for acquiring a specific profile in a consortium structure. It is no longer possible to measure a German University's degree of efficiency and potential to develop within a national framework. Only in the context of a (European and) worldwide scientific community it is possible for knowledge-based societies' complex innovation processes to become established within the institutions of university education.
