HHUD International

As a community of teachers and students, in the tradition of European universities and in the spirit of Heinrich Heine, the University of Duesseldorf offers education in an atmosphere of tolerance, promoting respect for minorities and coexistence across national borders. Since the University of Duesseldorf is deeply ingrained in this European cultural and educational tradition, one of our missions as a university is scientific research and instruction within a network of international cooperation. Though science is international, the sharing of innovative scientific research is currently organized on a national level. On the other hand, the University of Duesseldorf is now actively involved in structural reforms necessary to create a pan-European educational system that could be extended worldwide, which will have beneficial results in accelerating the speed at which scientific research is shared.

According to this spirit, the University of Duesseldorf promotes
  • the strengthening of international cooperation and the development of networks in the areas of teaching and research;
  • the creation of an internal infrastructure to promote international cooperation and the exchange of scientific knowledge in teaching, research and administration;
  • the strengthening of multinational cooperation in evaluation and accreditation;
  • the expansion of graded courses of study with internationally compatible degrees, including a modular structure and credit point system;
  • the concentration on scientific research and instruction of international significance;
  • the synergetic cooperation with governmental and private institutions, especially local and regional.
