Moot Pre-Rounds 2008: Final Pleading
Participating teams are rated. The two best rated teams will compete in the Final Pleading in front of a tribunal consisting of three renowned arbitrators from the Rhine / Ruhr area.

The Final Pleading takes place on Saturday, 8 March 2008, at 4 p.m.
Venue of the Final Pleading is the Oberlandesgericht Duesseldorf (Court of Appeal), Cecilienallee 3, 40474 Duesseldorf - Please take the entrance at the back of the building at Kurt-Baurichter-Strasse.
Directions: Sub U 78 / U 79 to "Victoriaplatz / Kleverstrasse ", exit "Kleverstrasse"; Walk straightly towards the river Rhine. The first building on the left is the Oberlandesgericht.

Dr. Thomas Kreifels has been a partner with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1987 and works in the Duesseldorf office. He belongs to the practice group “Litigation, Arbitration, Mediation”. Within his national and international legal practice, he has a special focus in plant construction and engineering both regarding to contract drafting and acting for clients in disputes in court or arbitration proceedings or in ADR proceedings. Dr. Kreifels was born in Duesseldorf in 1957. He studied law at the University of Bonn, from which he also received his doctorate. He has been with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1983 and speaks German and English. Thomas Kreifels regularly gives speeches and chairs seminars and conferences on construction and engineering. | Dr. Wolfgang Kuehn is a senior partner of the law firm of Heuking Kuehn Lueer Wojtek. He obtained his legal education from the Universities of Munich and Muenster (Dr. jur. 1971). Dr. Kuehn’s area of practise is corporate law, M&A and international arbitration. Dr. Kuehn advises national and foreign clients in a large number of M&A transactions. Dr. Kühn has extensively handled national and international arbitration proceedings as arbitrator or counsel on behalf of German and mainly international corporate parties or clients. He is member of the board of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), past chairman of the Arbitration Committee of the International Bar Association and past member (1990 to 1996) of the ICC International Court Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce. | Professor Dr. Siegfried Elsing is a partner at Hölters & Elsing. After his studies at the universities of Freiburg, Lausanne, Muenster (Dr. iur. 1976) and at Yale Law School (LL.M. 1979), Professor Elsing started his career in Cologne in 1979. He continued to practice with a law firm in New York. Prof. Elsing’s practice is focused on the areas of international business law with a strong emphasis in dispute resolution, M&A and corporate law. He has acted as arbitrator and chairman in more than 60 international arbitral proceedings (ICC, DIS, UNCITRAL, ad hoc etc.). Prof. Elsing is member of the Deutscher Anwalt Verein (DAV), International Bar Association (IBA), American Bar Association (ABA), Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit (DIS), Association Suisse de l’Arbitrage (ASA) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). | ||
