The 2008 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team was ranked No. 16 of 204 participating teams after the first four pleadings of this year´s Vis Competition in Vienna. In the first elimination round, the team lost by a narrow margin against Brooklyn Law School.

In spite of this loss, this year´s Vis participation was the most sucessful of a Düsseldorf team ever: The team received a honorable mention for its Memorandum for Respondent. Richard Ellwood and Constantin van Lijnden also received  honorable mentions for being among the best oral advocates.
