In order to increase experience and networking as part of the preparation of the Willem C. Vis Moot Court in Vienna, the Alumni Associations of Mooties from the Düsseldorf and Frankfurt University, namely Düsseldorf Moot Association e.V. and Frankfurt Moot Alumni Association decided to organise – jointly with the regional subsection of the Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit (DIS) for the Rhein/Ruhr area focussing on young arbitrators, DIS 40 Rhein/Ruhr - a Pre-Moot Round in Düsseldorf. This Pre-Moot will take place from March 6 – 8, 2008.

It will start with a reception and gathering in the late afternoon/evening of Thursday, March 6, 2008 and have hearings on Friday, March 7, 2007 and Saturday, March 8, 2007. It is intended to have a variety of legal systems represented among the participating teams, to rate the teams and to have a “final” pleading between the two most successful teams in front of a tribunal consisting of famous arbitrators from the Rhein/Ruhr region.

The pleadings will take place in the city centre of Düsseldorf in different law firms, which offer their conference rooms for pleadings. Friday a social event for Pre-Moot participants will be arranged. Moot teams are cordially invited to participate in the Pre-Moot. Since the number of teams is limited we register on a first come first serve basis.
