What’s about...
In 1996, when the Freiburger Biostatistical Days
were once again prepared by Prof. Hummel, we hit on the idea of collecting
and combining population studies on DNA-PCR polymorphisms with the aim
of giving an overview of data have been published up to today. This approach
resulted in a loose-leaf edition called PCR-Script. Surprised at
the positive resonance of the colleagues we decided to complete and to
update this data collection.
However, the title of this second approach (published in 1997) is not meant as a claim to full completeness. Surely, in spite of careful literature investigations, several studies might have been missed. Furthermore the completion was hindered by the popular phenomenon of several authors prefering to publish only graphical diagrams. Even when being asked personally some authors didn’t agree to giving the exact data.
Despite the fact of the increasing amount of published data, it seems to be unacceptable to actualize the data base in book form every year. Therefore we decided to offer new and actualized data via internet, half-yearly.
We are grateful to so many colleagues who supported this work with extensive information about their data. We hope that this positive cooperation will continue.
Considering this we would like to ask all colleagues to inform us about unpublished data and to keep us up-to-date. We ask for the same if we missed published data.
We sincerely hope for a productive cooperation:
